PDFs--how big can you go?

Subject: PDFs--how big can you go?

Does anyone know how large of a postscript file you can distill into a
PDF? (We're talking *large* as in 50 MB.) Does anyone know of a sort of
formula you could use to figure out how much memory the resulting PDF
file will be? For example, a 5 MB postscript will turn into a X MB PDF.

Thanks!

P.S. I am fully aware that large PDFs take a long time to load, are
unwieldy, blah blah. I still wanna know how big you can go.
