Am I missing the point? Hidden text goes on forever in Word 7.0 (until
you turn it off). I don't understand your reference to the limited size
of the field. Are you inserting a field control?
Have you tried inserting an annotation? It leaves a visible tag
(Options controls whether it prints) in the doc. When tag is
double-clicked, the annotation appears.
