Here's another suggestion I haven't seen mentioned yet. Use
the product name as part of the running header (or footer)
on each page. Thus, the header becomes something like
"Microsloth(R) Treehanger(TM) user guide". Nobody spends
much time on the headers, apart from page numbers, once
theyfind the chapter they're seeking, and this gets the
symbols out of the body text, where they just get in the
way. Worth a shot?
