Well, assuming you have a task-switching, cooperative-multitasking,
or lousy-at-timeslicing OS. ZipStream, at least, installs as just
another Installable File System (IFS) in OS/2, the same as HPFS,
TVFS, etc.
But that still puts mode code, therefore more events and more possibilities
for errors to occur, between the compression SW and the driver. The nature
of the OS affects the nature of the problems that might arise, but not the
opportunity for them *to* arise.

Even a priority-driven, time-slicing OS is capable of corrupting its file
system. if the wrong chain of events occurs. That's why there are CERT
alerts and OS updates.
