Technical Writers mailing list. Of course, that's the "formal" name I use

When I talk about the list with other writers, I usually refer to the full
name; on the rare occaision that I use the list name as it appears in the
email address, I usually pronounce it:
TEK W R dash ELL

Although that looking at it, I could see your second pronounciation:
TEK WHIRL
