What's a TLA?

Congratulations to all who were willing to ask for an
explanation of "CBT"... it takes courage stand up in front
of your peers to ask about something you're sure is basic
and that you really should understand. For those who didn't
ask, remember that you won't be flamed for revealing your
ignorance of a meaning... though you might be for
pretending to know more than you really do. Also remember,
there are lots of friendly faces who are happy to answer
such questions privately if you don't want to ask on-list.
And since you didn't ask, TLA = three-letter acronym.

As a prof once said, "there are no stupid questions". He
then went on to note that because he wanted to encourage
questions, he would not let anyone pass the course without
asking at least one stupid question. I immediately stuck up
my hand and asked him if that would be on the exam.
(Despite that, I did pass the course.)
