Subject:CHAT: Job Postings From:Daniel Wise <dewise -at- IX -dot- NETCOM -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 29 May 1997 17:39:58 -0500
Colleagues,
Consumer Notification: This is NOT a flame. Repeat, NOT a flame.
One of the amusing things--at least to me--about nearly all the job postings
to this list is the occurrence of the word string *leading producer of*
a/the *leading (or cutting) edge product* to the la-de-da industry. Doesn't
a company that is not the leader ever have a job opening?
Now, I realize most of these postings are composed by some twit in the HR
department. The posters are generally giving us what they were given. I
comment only because I amusing find the thought that every last, single,
solitary company that has a job opening is the acknowledged leader in the
field.
But couldn't we at least suggest to HR that some modification of their
wording might be appropriate for list posting?
