HTML to TXT file converter

Colleagues,

I have several times in the past on the TECHWR-L seen a request for
an HTML to TXT file converter. Recently I needed it myself for
converting HTML pages to brochure text (later on to be further
edited). I then decided to write such a programme. The result was
Html2txt 1.0, which is shareware. A 15 days fully workable demo is
downloadable from my website

Html2txt will transform any HTML file into a text file with correct
"hard line shifts", accented letters, signs, etc. as far as the text
file format permits it. This is for example of interest, if you want
to use text from the HTML document for ...
     an article in a magazine
     a brochure
     a manual
     a letter
     an address list.

Html2txt includes an *option* to include the most needed (only)
typographical information in the form of easily understandable
{TAG}s, telling you that this is a heading 1, this is bold text, now
comes a table, a new table field, etc. This is especially of
interest, where you are to convert the text into a nice document in
a word processor. You then follow the {TAG} instruction and
afterwards delete the {TAG}.

After the conversion - which leaves the original HTML document
unchanged - Html2txt reveals a simple text editor, where you can edit
the last converted document, e.g. using standard Windows textfile
shortcuts like Ctrl-Z (undo), Ctrl-X (cut), Ctrl-C (copy) and Ctrl-V
(paste).
