TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I don't know about any online courses specific to tech writing. But one
site I know of offers several online software programming courses related to
our work and which some of you might be interested in.
The site is the ITI Online Training Center and it offers online courses in
C, C++, Java, Web Development, Perl, managing custom software projects, and
several others.
I've started taking the C class, and I think the site provides a worthwhile
service, especially for tech writers who want to broaden their knowledge base.
And as far as I can tell, it's all FREE!!!
