Subject:CHECK YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR! From:Marika Chalupa <iamarika -at- EROLS -dot- COM> Date:Fri, 18 Apr 1997 11:34:07 -0700
A professor in grad school once told me, ?When it comes to editing --
check your ego at the door.? I?ve tried to remember these words when
being critiqued by anyone. Yet, human nature makes it impossible to
accept criticism, even if it may be constructive. However, in technical
writing, I assume being clear, concise and consistent is more important
than the creative, comprehensive, or magniloquent. Thus, when someone
corrects our grammar, in most cases, it?s an oversight. That is why God
made EDITORS.
