The only newsgroup I know of that is specifically for word programming in
on the msnews.microsoft.com news server.

It's microsoft.public.word.wordprogramming.

There is a list of the newsgroups that microsoft has for MS Word at
microsoft.com.mswordsupport/default-news.htm
