I thought _all_ writing was creative. Nature of the beast! (Discounting, of
course, copying, listing, etc.)

And I recall a recent vigorous thread in which we discussed differences
between writers and editors -- qualifications, salaries, responsibilities.
A theme that came up several times was the scope of brainwork required in
(technical) writing. It's essentially an exercise in problem-solving, from
nuts and bolts to sublime conceptualization. How does this differ from
"creative" writing such as novels, poetry, and humorous essays?
