We ran some tests on a book, and we found a slight decrease in
PostScript size using Acrobat 3.0.

Original .ps file = 1,682,436
-----------------------
Acrobat Distiller 2.0 .pdf file = 439,057
Acrobat Reader 2.1 .ps file = 1,776,984
Acrobat Reader 3.0 .ps file = 1,265,317
Acrobat Exchange 3.0 .ps file = 1,265,316
-----------------------
Acrobat Distiller 3.0 .pdf file = 311,575
Acrobat Reader 3.0 .ps file = 1,224,917
Acrobat Exchange 3.0 .ps file = 1,224,916

Note: According to our tests on this one file:

1 - Acrobat Distiller 3.0 creates smaller .pdf files than Acrobat Distiller 2.0

2 - Acrobat Reader 3.0 produced a smaller .ps file than Acrobat Reader 2.1.
This is true regardless of whether the .pdf files was created with Acrobat
Distiller 2.0 or 3.0.
