If you have a lot of qualifications, then you have to tell prospective employers what they are. A one page resume covering a ten-year-plus career does not do justice to said career. BUT effective marketing involves making your point quickly and that's the stong point about a one-page resume. Also, with the kind of volume of response to a position opening that most HR people receive, you need to make your resume easy to scan.

How to rectify these conflicting priorities? Present an easily-read summary of what you have to offer on the first page of the resume, followed by more detailed information. This communicates the kind detail of senior-level experience along with the making your point quickly.
