Regarding the job shop non-compete clause...

This is pretty much standard throughout the industry. I wouldn't worry about
it at all. Besides, if the job shop's client is happy with your work (and I
am sure they will be), they will have no problems renewing a contract or
extending the one you're on.

And also...if you're contracting, you're probably making a lot more $$ than
you would if you were hired as a perm employee at the company. Why would you
possibly want to go from contracting at a company to being a perm employee
there which would mean making a LOT less money? You'd have the job security
through the contract, especially if the job shop's client likes your work.
