TITLE: Technical Writing Team Leader
DEPARTMENT: Technical Documentation
MANAGER: June Kittlitz

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures completion of all tasks, projects, and objectives assigned to the
team. Assists in the development of project plans, deadlines, and
completion criteria. Coordinates and supervises subordinate writers on
team. Works with Editor to ensure team's adherence to departmental
formats and standards. Also responsible for writing, updating, and
editing technical documents, as well as working with software and
hardware engineering.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor?s degree in Technical Communications or related field. A
minimum of 5 years technical writing experience or 3 years technical
writing and 2 years supervisory experience. Knowledge of publishing
applications, such as Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, etc., and
OS/2, Windows, and/or UNIX. Experience with publication project
management practices and documentation industry standards.

Title: Technical Editor

RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and introduce new tools for dept. production needs, including
training and troubleshooting. Create, introduce, and maintain style/format
templates for doc layout. Edit all manuals for style and clarity during
review cycle. Create, introduce, and maintain ISO 9000 procedures for
doc work processes. Administer the InterVoice Bulletin Board System
(BBS). Write manuals for special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor?s degree in Technical Communications or related field or
equivalent experience. Five years technical writing experience. Minimum
one year editing experience. Knowledge of publishing applications, such
as Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, etc., and OS/2, Windows,
and/or UNIX. Knowledge of programming logic, telephony, and data
communications a plus. Ability to work independently, yet coordinating
priorities with Doc Manager and gathering input from the entire Doc
Dept.

feedback to Engineering. Assures manuals are developed and released
according to department procedures.

least 2 years of related experience. Knowledge of publishing
applications, such as Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, etc., and
OS/2, Windows, and/or UNIX. Knowledge of programming logic,
telephony, and data communications preferred. Ability to work
independently with excellent time and project management,
communications, and writing skills.
