Well, maybe. It's as much of a profession as technical illustration is,
anyway. I'd be happy if people just recognized technical writing as
a purposeful task, rather than an empty formalism. But then, many
engineers don't quite grasp why the company has a sales department,
either. One does not have to win a passing grade in Realities of
Business 101 to work in industry.
