Colleagues,

Some of you have gone to a lot of trouble to malign STC for no apparent
reason. You have been told that STC does not now, has never, and may
never offer certification. Those of you who feel that STC would
grandfather members or give preferential treatment to members have a
lot to learn.

First, it would probably not be possible to do so.

Second, employers would figure it out (except for those who wouldn't
care in the first place) very quickly and discount certification.

Some of you may have an ax to grind concerning STC, but give me a
break! Use what passes for your brain. STC is not a trade union. It
is an organization of people who claim to be professionals. Some
actually are. Others are wannabes. Still others are like the 2000 or
so who lurk on this list and never have anything worthwhile to
contribute.
