Help! A series of equations about determining inclinometry (determining
logging tool orientation) uses the term "ATAN2" as in "relative bearing =
ATAN2[g1 - g2]" and my query to the author about it was cryptically
answered "ATAN2 is a standard mathematical function." It's been a long time
since I took my last math course, so my best guess is "tan" for "tangent"
-- can anyone enlighten me? Whatzit and would I set it in italics as a
variable? Thanks!
