This is a belated contribution.

Talk to your programmers. They have, (or used to have) a set of standards
for flow-diagramming branches. there are different conventions for
representing "if... then ... else ..." and multiple choices.

(If ... then ... else if ... then ... else if ... has been used, but is
horribly clumsy.)
