A solution, but not very elegant. To use the same font (although I prefer a
point or two smaller for tables), select the table, convert two spaces to a
tab, convert tab space to a tab, convert tab tab to a tab (repeat this step
until you get no changes), then convert the whole thing to a Word table, which
you can adjust as you desire.
