Materials Research Corporation, Congers, New York (Rockland County),
a manufacturer of semiconductor manufacturing equipment,
has a permanent position available for a Technical Communicator.
Candidates must have:
* Minimum of two (2) years experience technical writing
* Minimum of an A.A. or A.S in the following fields:
English, Communications, Journalism, or technical discipline
* Excellent English composition skills
* Strong interview and research skills
* Excellence with desk top publishing software, preferably FrameMaker(TM),
having the following skills:
- create and comply with defined paragraph styles
- format pages and apply existing formats to imported material
- import and modify files and graphics
- use native drawing tools to create illustrations
- use automation features such as auto numbering, cross referencing,
variable application and generation of book and TOC files
* Awareness of ISO 9000 standard
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings,
schematics
* Ability to use a Windows-based, networked PC and hardware peripherals
such as modem, tape back-up, CD ROM drive, video capture, scanner,
printer, etc.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Preferred consideration will be given to candidates who have:
* Knowledge of semiconductor process equipment
* Extensive experience with computer graphics, with the ability to:
- create line art from Engineering drawings, rough sketches,
photo's and/or visual inspection
- convert above line art to various other formats
- create isometric, 3d or exploded view drawings from above materials
* Experience with electronic imaging, such as video stills, photo CD
* Experience with Visual Basic or hypermedia authoring tools
