At my last job, most staff left on time (5.30) unless there was a
specific job that had to be completed. When the office was
located in town, people would work weekends and evenings, but
when the office moved out of town, to an industrial area where
you needed the work bus to take you to the train, we stopped. (It
is not generally worth running a car in this town, as parking for
the work day can cost upwards of US$18, and monthly spaces at
home start at US$400.) Our publications were as timely as they
had ever been, it just took more dedication (and no lunch break!)
to get them out.
