Description: Designs and writes printed and online documentation for Pilot
Software products. Documentation includes Help, tutorials, guided tours,
online and printed books, error messages, design/functional specifications,
documentation plans, programming references, and sample applications. Works
collaboratively with other technical writers, editor, engineers, product
integrators, support, and marketing. Designs and writes printed and online doc
to reflect a reduced word count, reduced cost of goods, an emphasis on
task-oriented assistance, plus an increase ease of learning for Pilot's
worldwide customers. Also, actively participates in usability testing and
reviewing the UI.
Requirements: BA in English, Journalism, or Technical Writing required along
with 5+ years' experience in a high tech environment. Must have excellent
writing skills, including a thorough knowledge of grammar, and an ability to
organize and present information clearly in written and graphic forms.
Knowledge of relational database programs, client/server financial programs,
application developer tools, cost accounting applications, and Windows 95 are
preferred. Business consulting experience and knowledge of multimedia tools
are pluses.
