Maybe I missed something in Guy's original post. What did Guy mean by
labeling graphics people as "weenies"?

Throughout my career, I have been labeled as a:
*techie
*technonerd
*writing nerd
*writing geek
*technogeek
*technoweenie

(The last one was well-deserved. In the late 80's, my cubie hung it on me
after she watched me come in one A.M., sit down at my 3270 terminal, type my
login information, and sit back waiting for my session to establish. She
hooted and hollered when I dryly acknowledged the source of the humor. I
simply said, "Guess I better turn it on first.")

Many of the graphics people I know are knowledgeable, technical gurus. The
ones that work at my company are especially good, and I often turn to them
for technical solutions for hardware and software. Guy, when you said
"graphics weenies," was this intended to lambast technical illustrators or
was it meant to acknowledge their often-superior technical skills? (My
perspective was that it was intended as a compliment.) Answer to the list,
Guy.

Regards...Kris
