When you capture screen images for inclusion in your documentation, you
should test the results after changing your color depth or resolution.
Depending upon your publication medium, it could make a BIG difference on
the quality of the finished result. (For example, WinHelp images work best
at a particular color depth, and your printer/typesetter may look best at a
particular bitmap resolution.)
If you use a Mac with a multi-sync monitor, you can change the resolution
and/or screen depth, make the captures and change back immediately. (You
can even use AppleScript or an F-Key utility to avoid a trip to the
Monitors control panel.) On a PC you have to reboot Windows, but the
trouble may be worth it to you.
