Subject:ensure or make sure? (from Irwin W. Emig) From:Mark Levinson <mark -at- SD -dot- CO -dot- IL> Date:Tue, 11 Jul 1995 18:34:08 IDT
We use "ensure" although I'm sure an occasional "make sure" or "be
sure" passed under my red pen without a second thought. We have no
internal style guide directing us away from any of these. The
important item for us is that we don't mix the "ensure" and "insure"
words unless we are referring to insurance.
