if you are involved in some German at work, help is not far away. Techwr-l is
 available at my BBS, that is supported by both tekom, the German society for
 technical communicators, and BDUe, the German society for translators and
 interpreters. If I find a specific message here, I will even copy it to one of
 the internal newsgroups, which are much smaller than Techwr-l. There are some
 400 people from all over Germany, who can read Techwr-l here without Internet
 access.

If you wish to access the headquaters of tekom, send mail to
 tek-b -dot- beutte -at- geod -dot- geonet -dot- de -dot-  There is no e-mail access for the BDUe
 headquarters that I am aware of. But you will find a competent partner if you
 send mail to Richard -dot- Schneider -at- twh -dot- msn -dot- sub -dot- org -dot- 

tekom and BDUe have regional chapters. If you come to Germany, I might be able
 to connect you to German collegues. BDUe even has public member lists, if you
 need a German translator or interpreter.


I am a graduated electronics/software engineer. I work as a free-lance
 technical writer in areas that range from service manuals to context-sensitive
 online-documentation. I might translate to German. But I will not translate
 to English professionally - you native speakers will understand why :-)
