On-line information, E-mail, teleconferencing, bulletin boards,
Internet, Worldwide Web -- new technologies are changing and reshaping the way
people and organizations communicate and share information. Whether you call
it reengineering, downsizing, flattening, or firing, the transformation of
U.S. business has changed the way we must handle information. As a business
communicator, are you prepared to rapidly adapt to the new demands of your
publics and clients?
At IABC/Tucson's Communicating in a Wired World workshop, you'll learn
how to meet this challenge. You'll leave this seminar with practical knowledge
that you can put to work today.
From on-line demonstrations to tips on smart computer networking
purchases, the May 17 workshop will cover information management and other
business areas. It will offer live demonstrations of on-line computer networks
and how you can use them to better position your business in today's global
economy.
The workshop will last from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with continental
breakfast and lunch included. Participants may choose to attend either the
morning session, the afternoon session, or the full day. We strongly urge you
to block out this day to learn how accessing the information superhighway can
help you.

technology to business communication, the challenges and opportunities it
presents, how technology is changing public relations, and why we have to keep
up.
7 Integrating Desktop Information Tools to Save Time and Expense -- An
on-line demonstration of how readily available information technology
can be used for media relations, research, employee information management,
and more!

AFTERNOON SESSION
Noon to 5:30 p.m.
7 Strategies for On-line Communications -- Tour cyberspace and learn how
on-line communication can add power to your media relations, crisis
communication, networking, professional development and marketing activities.
7 What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You -- An on-line look at using an
information service to solve typical business communication challenges, what
can be found, and how it can be used.
7 Tips for Buying Software and Hardware -- How to buy the right equipment
at the right price; expert advice on what type of system is best for
communicators.

WORKSHOP PRESENTERS
7 Shel Holtz, ABC, senior communications consultant, Alexander &
Alexander Consulting Group, San Francisco. An IABC executive board member,
Holtz has more than 17 years' experience in communication management.

7 Craig Jolley, customer segment director, LEXIS/NEXIS, Inc., Dayton,
Ohio. Jolley is an IABC and PRSA leader, member of the IABC Technology and
Hyperspace committees and 1993 Dayton Communications Leadership Award
recipient.

7 Charles Pizzo, Jr., partner, P.R. P.R., Inc., New Orleans. Pizzo is an
IABC executive board member, a member of the Hyperspace Committee for the PR
and Marketing Forum on CompuServe, and serves on the software advisory
committee for LEXIS/NEXIS.

7 Peter Shinbach, APR, president, Birmingham Group. An information
technology consultant, Shinbach served as Technology Committee chair for PRSA
and is an IABC member with 20 years' experience in public relations and
management communications.
