While I agree with Jeffery that ROM is a statement of function, I feel that
ROM and CD-ROM have become names (at least, in our computer world).
"Writer" is also a statement of function, but can we not have a gaggle of
writers? [I know, I know... I just like the sound of gaggle. :-) ]
Whether someone asks me for a SIMM or a box of SIMMs; a CD-ROM or a box of
CD-ROMs; I know exactly what they are talking about.
Perhaps I am not technically correct, but I feel that I am communicating
clearly. For me, that is the most important goal.
