Antennae? Nah...Ethernet twisted-pair jacks, or whatever it currently takes
to connect your PC to an ISDN bridge. Of course, there *is* a lot of data
being transmitted right now via satellite -- there's a gi-normous amount of
bandwidth available. I believe most of the Internet links between the
world's continents are via satellite.

The problem with satellites and individuals is that the transmission is
usually one-way (satellite ==> person). Anything more requires quite a bit
of equipment -- anyone remember the great SNL series of Weekend Update
interviews with "man on the road" Al Franken? They had him *wearing* the
transmission dish, battery pack, etc. and suffering chronic back pain
because of it, but being very sanguine about the experience -- "Is it worth
it? Of, definitely." The signal went wonky every time he unconsciously
tilted his head. VERY funny.
