Mary Wise asked about a UNIX screen capture application.
We use XV, which I believe to be shareware. XV allows
you to capture full-color, greyscale, or B/W screen images
and save them in a variety of formats, including GIF, PM,
X11 (like Framemaker's XWD), Sun rasterfile, JPEG, TIFF,
and of course everybody's favorite, PostScript.
The interface is fairly intuitive, once you learn that
(a) you must press your right mouse button to get past
the intro screen, and (b) the "grab" button is what begins
the image capture process.
