My first question to the client is: liable for what?

I've done lots of contracting and never came across this, at least not
as a serious consideration. (It probably isn't for the your product at
all - just a clause in a boilerplate contract, and you'll end up lining
it out.)

I believe anybody can be bonded; it's just another way of assuring the
client that if you abscond with anything of value, the beneficiary
(probably the client) receives compensation.

I can't wait to hear how this turns out.  I'm very curious about that
liability bit.  Please let me know.

      this topic on the list yet.  (By the way, I enjoy the topics -- AND
      threads.)

      I have a couple of questions for the independent contractors out
      there.  (I'm an independent contractor, and this issue just came up
      for me.)

      Do you have insurance for product liability?

      If yes, where do you get this type of coverage?

      Can a tech writer be "bonded"?

      I'm reading a contract where the company requests that I carry
      liability insurance, but I'm not sure that this type of coverage
      exists for writers.  Any thoughts?
