While I agree with not taking advantage of your current employer's
facilities to job hunt, I will note that the use of a postage meter
isn't always theft. Where I work, the mailroom is set up to meter
packages for us: the procedure is a bit complicated, involving writing
a check for the amount of the postage, taking it to the accounting
department, and getting a note from them, but it may still be preferable
to waiting on line at the post office, especially in December. (I
probably wouldn't use it for a resume package, but the few times I've
done this, they haven't asked what I was sending, just weighed it
and told me how much to write the check for.)
