TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Once again, I'd like to ask for the advice and opinions of the list
members.
After 9 years of software technical documentation, I'm making a transition
out of technical writing into a broader role, such as product
management/marketing. (I'm looking for a coordination role that has lots
of variety and visibility.)
If you or anyone you know is considering tranferring technical
communication skills into a related field, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
If you or anyone you know has done it, I'd like to hear your experiences.
Thanks very much!
Jane
