TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Okay, this isn't the most -vital- piece of information that will be posted on
this list today, but it may have a slight connection with our view of
ourselves, the world's view of us, and some prestige.
A technical writer from California has been a four-day champion on the
syndicated game show Jeopardy. He goes for his fifth (and final) contest
tonight. If he wins, he'll be back at the end of the season. He's been very
sharp, handling all the game show categories well, and has been winning by a
wide margin. All in all, he's presenting a positive image of the profession,
and has even managed to get in a couple of quick explanations of what tech
writers do.
That's all. Back to business.
