Forget about style! Forget about readability! It is an irrefutable
fact that YOU HAVE ONLY SO MANY KEYSTROKES IN LIFE. Therefore, each
keystroke brings you that much closer to your final keystroke. I
submit that it is downright dangerous for a writer to use more words
than are absolutely necessary.
