Yukkk .... something about "The figure below shows an SQL query." just sounds
wrong. But seeking to garner support for my intuitions, I blew through the
Sybase Transact-SQL User's Guide looking for examples one way or another.
FWIW, note 1-5 where it says, "A SQL statement must follow..."
A lot of times they use plurals (maybe to avoid just this problem?) -- "the SQL
commands."
Or they avoid articles altogether: "standard SQL" or "SQL operations."
Anybody from Oracle/Informix/Sybase out there that has an opinion? After all,
they have to document this stuff all the time!
