Larry Kunz, the STC Director-Sponsor for Region 2 and manager of
the STC Bylaws Committee, will present a workshop designed to help
you build and develop your leadership skills. Larry's workshop
analyzes the qualities of a good leader and provides tips and
insights into what motivates the people you lead. This workshop is
excellent for technical communicators who want to build or sharpen
their leadership and management skills. Larry, a member of the
Carolina Chapter, is a Relationship Manager with IBM Corporation.
Prior to this position, Larry was an IBM Advisory Information
Developer for 14 years. Larry has received numerous awards,
including an STC Distinguished Chapter Service Award and four IBM
Excellence Awards. He has presented papers and workshops at five
STC Annual Conferences. In addition to his involvement with the
STC, Larry is a board member of the North Carolina Writer's Network
and a member of the advisory board for the Software Technical
Writing Program at Durham Technical Community College.
The cost of the workshop includes snacks and soft drinks.

in College Park, MD. From the Capital Beltway, take Exit 25 B (Route
1 - Baltimore Blvd.). Take Baltimore Blvd. south for approximately 2
miles to the hotel on the left. Free parking is available at the
hotel. The hotel is also only a few blocks away from the College
Park/University of Maryland Metro Station on the Green Line. The
hotel provides free shuttle service to and from the Metro Station
every 30 minutes (on the hour and half hour). The evening shuttle
runs start at 6:00, and there is no need to call the hotel to pick
you up.
