With the help of a speech board and synthesizer in the computer, he can
use command line-oriented software. The online docs come into play for learning
the software, answering questions, etc.

Because bokks that are printed in braille are very large and cumbersome and
often impracticle (i.e., a phone book in braille would be several volumes that
would take up one or two shelves on a bookcase), good online docs are
essential. Also, the blind person can learn the software more independently
without the
help of a reader.
