Hi everyone! What a great day!

It seems that all too seldom do we tech writers
ever receive feedback about the good that we have
done for our companies. Well, I did today, and I'd
like to share it with ya'll:

BEFORE
Technology (R&D) engineer travels to (whatever)
location for a 1- to 2-week trip to ensure proper
installation of equipment or to solve problems
with installation.

AFTER
Engineer and tech writer work together to write 2 short
installation manuals. Copies are sent to Perth, Australia
(from Oklahoma, USA) to field personnel who are about to
install equipment.

A few weeks later, engineer hears that the equipment was
installed using the instructions in the manuals, and no
assistance or overseas trip was required from the technology
engineer.

Isn't that super?! That's exactly why we exist, isn't it?
This story really made my day. :-)

I hope ya'll are having equally good days.
