The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Subject:STC Regional and Local Conferences From:Saul Carliner <CUISACX -at- GSUVM1 -dot- BITNET> Date:Sat, 28 Aug 1993 16:20:41 EDT
What are the latest practices in technical communication?
What are the new technologies--and are they ready to work with yet or
hold off another year?
I need to brush up on some of my writing and editing skills.
I'd like to meet other people in my profession.
What new desktop publishing products are available--and what are
people's experience with them?
I need some motivation!
If the "I" in any of these questions is YOU, then you might be interested in
the Society for Technical Communication's (STC) regional and local
conferences.
Regional and local conferences are intended as a cost-effective means of
on-going training in our field. To expose you to the best in the field,
most conferences feature general sessions with well-known speakers. To
give you the training you need, most conferences feature several elective
sessions so you can tailor a unique agenda. And to introduce you to
fellow professionals, most conferences feature extensive networking
opportunities.
To help you find conferences in your area, they are listed by
geography rather than by date. For more information about the
conference, please contact the "Contact" listed.
Like all STC events, local and regional conferences are planned by
volunteers. If you would like a unique learning opportunity, offer
your volunteer services when calling for information.
