For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Though it may not have been obvious to the inquirer in advance, the fax
discussion looks like a case in which it might have been appropriate to
ask for answers to go directly to the inquirer rather than to the group,
and to offer an eventual summary to those interested.
This has been rather a grumpy discussion of discussions. Anyone for
