Subject:Windows 11 - A Few Thoughts... From:Nina Barzgaran <nina -dot- barzgaran -at- barzgaran -dot- at> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Wed, 20 Oct 2021 06:26:41 +0200
Hello All,
I was curious do understand the main difference between Windows 10 and
11. There's heaps of time yet, most of you know anyway that 10 will be
supported at least until 2025.
Yet, I created a dual-boot (actually triple, have a Linux alongside both
too) with 10 and 11. To me it looked pretty much the same, as regards
available features.
(Wonder if they will keep the TPM requirement... ð )
I actually like some 'simplifications' the design has seen, such as
Start menu, etc.
I also read this little paragraph I find intriguing: ð
_"Windows 11 breaks from the semi-annual update cadence of Windows 10 in
favor of a single annual update. That's just like MacOS. Microsoft is
committed to supporting Windows 10 through 2025, and it should continue
to receive updates throughout that time." *_
Slowing down instead of accelerating, basically, hopefully in favour of
quality - vs quantity. - Careful 'yeah'...if that will get others to
'copy' that procedure... ð
If any of you have tried it yet, what are your thoughts?
(Apart from waiting to upgrade until it is stable enough and
compatibility of software ensured, of course.)
