You should probably have this discussion on a Drupal or Vardoc list.

In general though (I love Drupal):

* You should build a basic Drupal installation that you can
successfully implement and use in a remote environment.
* Check your Drupal status report for issues and fix those issues,
like if you have a php limits issue or memory issues.
* Try out Vardoc in a sandbox. I tried the simplytest.me sandbox and
got, "The requested submission failed."
* Always check for dependencies for new things.
* Get a brand new fresh database for Vardoc and empty folder space
(don't install "vardoc" in a folder that already has a "vardoc" folder.)
* Use Composer and use Drush, if you can.
* Install Vardoc in its own new folder with its own brand new database.
* Test out your new installation and recruit some beta testers.

Does anyone have any experience of using the Drupal distribution Vardoc? I'm looking at creating a Knowledge Base type site in Drupal and this seems to be a suitable option, but as a complete Drupal noob I'm having difficulty implementing it locally (on my machine).
