Using Word 2016 to write a big consulting report for a client. I want to put
in x-refs to specific tables and figures. In my Word styles, I have a Table
Caption style and a Figure Caption style. They are set up with Numbering as
Table: <n> and Figure: <n> with tabs, so that the captions are automatically
numbered when I use the tags. However, when I insert x-refs to these
captions and select Insert reference to paragraph number, the x-ref includes
Figure <n>: i.e., the colon is included because the colon is set up in the
numbering scheme. How on earth do I use x-refs in this situation w/out
including the colon? I don't want to have to manually insert bookmarks for
each and every caption and then link to those bookmarks. Way
toooooooooooooooooooo much work for a document of this size.
TIA,
TVB
