Thanks, all.

It appears the most straightforward solution would involve obtaining an
ASUS USB3.0_HZ-1 DOCKING-STATION at $150. It connects to any laptop via USB
3.0 and provides both DVI and HDMI outputs.

So I'd connect my existing 24" monitor (already using an HDMI-to-DVI
adapter) to the docking station's HDMI port.

For another $50 there is the VisionTek DVI-to-DisplayPort 1.5M Active Cable
(M/M) (900823). Theoretically, it would let me run the DisplayPort-only
monitor from the docking station's DVI port.

Now I just have to decide if I really want to throw $200 at thisâas opposed
to finally getting up the energy/courage to install Windows 10 on the Intel
NUC I also bought months ago to accompany the DisplayPort monitor.
