Our documentation (html and pdf files) are installed locally for our
enterprise software (used by banks and other financial institutions). We
are contemplating putting it more "online" but it will be behind a login
because it's proprietary information for our customers only. We don't
necessarily want people to google how our field masking works (for
example).

Our software is not available off the shelf. It is an integrated enterprise
solution.

The feedback you've received has been interesting though.
