You could try defining a No Proofing character style with the language
setting 'Do not check spelling or grammar' (see Styles > Modify >
Format > Language). Apply this to words or strings you don't want to
add to the custom dictionary. A keyboard shortcut can be assigned for
each string to apply that style in future. Global Find/Replace could
probably be used to update all existing instances.
