I ran Windows 10 for about 4 months on a test machine of mine and I rather liked it. It had a better feel than 8.1 (I still like Win7 more). The big thing I am wondering about is, isn't anyone worried at all about the data mining that MS is doing with Windows 10? That is the main reason (that and that fact that I would like to see it mature a little more) I decided to dump it. You are supposed to be able to turn all of the "call home" features off, but according to Ars Technica (amongst others) you can't: http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/08/even-when-told-not-to-windows-10-just-cant-stop-talking-to-microsoft/

Has this been changed? Did I miss the update on this? If they have changed it all, I would like to know, as I rather liked the feel and speed of the OS and would consider moving to it (definitely away from 8.1).

To all:

I apologize if this is off-topic for the group, but I feel impelled to ask the question. What have your experiences been with upgrading a PC to Windows 10? Are the benefits worth the changes?

BTW, I'm currently using Windows 8.1 on a machine with a "4th generation ...i5-4430 processor," 12GB DDR3 RAM, and a 2TB hard drive, so I have no doubt the hardware can handle the upgrade.

Thanks!
